The Bench

So, we have moved the chair into our room for now, but the ottoman is still in the living room, Parker calls it "his bench" and it is his seat of preference for movies.

New Purchase

Well, part of one actually. We went out garage saleing (ya, I know that is not an actual word...) Anyway, didn't really find anything until we hit the last garage sale- Joe got out of the car, I wasn't too interested at this point and so Parker and I stayed in the car. Joe came back a little bit later and asked if we wanted to get a leather chair and ottoman. Well, I wasn't exactly sure where we would put it, but it was $50.00 and I figured if nothing else, we could at least sell it for what we paid, so Joe got it, then the guy asked if he was interested in a leather couch and love seat for $400.00. So, we got those too. They are currently staying at Joe's parent's house because our basement isn't finished for them to be put down there, but when it is, they will definitely be there. They are a chocolate brown, SuPeR comfy and Joe loves them. I love them too, I especially love that they are not microfiber. But that is a story for another day :) So, here is a picture of the chair and ottoman and Joe is definitely motivated to finish the basement.

My grandma passed away- My mom reminded me that there are 2 things you can't escape - Death and Taxes- So I guess if nothing else, I always remember what day she passed away on. I still miss her, I wish I could tell her my happy news, my sad news, just talk to her. I know that I can, but it is not the same without her guiding me here. I wish she could have met Parker, know what an absolute joy he is, and how funny he can be. But, that wasn't the plan, and I have to remind myself that. I am so grateful for the knowledge that even though she isn't here now, we can be together again, and that can provide comfort when I am feeling sad. I love you Grandma, and I always will.

Love,

Conversations...With a 2 1/2 year Old

It AmAzEs me how much Parker understands, and what he says-seriously- he amazes me. As he learns and grows and talks I'd like to think that there is a little part of me that is doing something right. I think that to a certain extent, the things your child says reflects on what they hear, especially for while they are small. Parker tells me all the time

"Good Job Momma, Good Job" usually when I do something for him, or clean something up for him, or get him something. Super Cute!

"I prow you" (I proud of you) So cute!!

At the post office this morning, while waiting in line to get stamps
"Momma, you happy?" "Yes Parker, I'm happy, are you happy too?" "Yes, Parker happy. Parker happy, Momma happy- Two Happys" "Yeah Parker, you are right, 2 happys" Me- BEAMING WITH PRIDE.

While passing those weird guys at the tax service place that dress up at the Statue of Liberty and wave at everyone.
P- "Momma, that guy scary"
M-" Oh, what color is the guy?"
P- "Blue, Blue guy scary"
after a minute
P- "Don't hurt Parker"
M- "The scary blue guy?"
P- "Yes, Scary blue guy don't hurt Parker"
M; "Oh honey, that scary guy won't hurt you, you are with Momma, and you are safe with Momma in Momma's car, he can't hurt you. Do you know that you are safe in Momma's car?"
P- "Yes, I safe Momma's car. Thank you Momma, Thank you"

He LOVES signs, and asks me what ANY sign says, he knows that red stop signs mean stop, orange signs mean "Be Careful" (cause seriously, they can say a lot of different things, but that is what they all boil down to" and yellow signs mean "watch out" (same philosophy as the orange sign...) He loves to point to all the signs in the grocery store and ask what they mean. He loves to say prayers, and kneel on the floor for family prayers-

Seriously, I love this kid!

SUN!!

So the weather has been so nice the last few days- not including yesterday afternoon and today- they have been rainy and not fun (when you are just starting getting used to the wonderful weather that makes you want to go outside, and actually stay outside...) and Parker was LoViNg it- seriously, he would stay outside all day if he could. We have gone on walks, wagon rides, checked out the ducks in the pond behind our house and just paid in the sun.
Apparently we need to get a bigger slide for him... :)
He has so had so much fun, hopefully the weather will start getting better again.
