GoOdNeSs

Wow, so much going on, so little time to blog (apparently :) Anyway, on some updates, Parker is doing {FaNtAsTiC} with the potty, amazing! Joely can roll over from her back to her tummy, then she is stuck, and not happy.  I will be grateful when she figures out how to roll the other direction :) I gave her rice cereal for the first time yesterday and she LOVED it! She is such a happy girl and we love having her in our family! Joe went and just got back from Australia. He went for work and had a good time and everything thankfully went smoothly. Me, I had to get a root canal, while Joe was gone. Awesome... crazy painful and Loratab and I do not go so well together, so I was able to lose about 9 pounds while Joe was gone :) Not the healthiest way to lose weight... The kids and I along with my mom and sister were able to go to the Strawberry Days parade, we had a lot of fun!

5 MoNthS

How is my baby girl 5 months already?!? I mean in the next month, I can start her on baby food, and she will be closer to crawling than not crawling (no, she isn't even starting, she has only rolled over once- AND I MISSED it...)

At 5 Months she is...
SMILING, she is a VERY smiley baby
Giggles, not tons, so you know that she is thrilled when she does
Scoots around everywhere, she is so silly
LOVES her brother, he is so good with her (when not mauling her too much :)
LOVES mommy, and I kinda like her too :)
Very good with her hands, she is very good at grabbing and very deliberate in what she wants.

PoTtY TrAiNnInG

So, last week, the stars all aligned and I realized that Parker needed to be potty trained. (No scouts, 2 diapers left, already got weekly deals and groceries...) So, the training began on Wednesday, and we had 2 accidents, 2 partials (made it to the potty, didn't pull down the undies :) and 2 successes. Since then he has had only 2 day time accidents, and has gone every other night without an accident. I didn't want to do the pull ups at night because then  (in my opinion, I know others have their own) it seemed contradictory, daytime, undies, don't like to be in them if you have had an accident, but at night it is ok to put the glorified diapers on and go in them. Anyway, I realize that the nighttime training will take a bit longer, but it has gone better than expected. During the day, it is still sometimes easier to just keep the pants off, but we have run errands and gone to visit family and he has let me know when he had to go potty and we have made it before he has gone. Yay Parker!

NoT So LiTtLe AnYmOrE

My little boy is growing up, I was watching a little video of him from about a year and half ago and it was amazing how little he looked. I look at him now and realize that he is a boy, and not so terribly little. He doesn't have the baby fat and the things that he says would make you think he is older than the 3 1/2 year old that he is. Less than a year ago, he hadn't even been on a trike, I know this because at his 3 year check up one of the questions was can he ride a trike, and I suddenly thought I had failed as a mom, because he had never even been on one. Once I came home, I discussed with Joe that we NEEDED a trike for Parker, and we apparently had a very dated one in the shed that Joe pulled out and we gave it to Parker and off he rode. I was THIS close to calling the dr. back and shouting that he CAN ride a trike :) We this year, Joe got out a bike that we had been given, got some training wheels, and it took him about one ride before figuring out exactly how to do it, and he is a total pro now.

Yep, my little babe is growing up.
