Almost done with sewing

So, I just have a few final projects to sew before Joely gets here, and actually I need to serge them, so I need to do them at my mom's. So, today I got a few more sewing projects done. I made 6 burp cloths, and a diaper and wipes case/ clutch. I {heart} the fabric on the wipes clutch. Not surprising though it is from the same designer line as my canopy and my animal blanket.

Santa

So, Parker has been so into Santa this year, because he really wants a jeep- a big remote control jeep. So, we told him that he needed to ask Santa, and we actually saw Santa at Macey's and Parker told him he wanted a jeep and he was a really nice Santa and Parker was so excited to have seen him. Well, I decided to take him to Thanksgiving Point where I was told that they had a really good Santa and it was $2.00 for a picture with him and it should be a good experience. So, I got there just a little before 6- (it was a 6-8 thing) and the line didn't look too bad, til you got to the actual room and then the line was a lot longer looking. Mind you Parker wanted me to hold him the entire time, so here I am 11 days away from my due date, holding my 3 year old for 50 minutes in line- But he was all excited so it was ok, I did have to set him down a couple of times, but basically held him the whole time. Anyway, we get up there and we are waiting for our turn, Parker is all excited (once he noted that he didn't like this Santa cause he didn't have a hat, but I told him that the hat was too hot and his head needed to cool off, and that seemed to work) so the lady was asking Parker if he was going to tell Santa what he wanted and he was all, ya, a jeep, etc so we go up to see Santa and Parker FREAKS out. He starts crying, backing away, etc. It was awful, and part of me was like I waited in line for THIS?!? So I am trying to help console Parker, get him to talk to Santa, and Santa was really nice and I mentioned a jeep, and so Santa was like, we make lots of jeeps, what color do you want? And Parker said through the tears- Red, and we took a picture, which mind you I was NOT planning in being so I looked quite awful, Parker is clinging on to me for dear life and the only one who looks good in the picture is Santa, so no, I will NOT be showing that picture. :) Then it was time to go, Parker said Bye, and he was fine after that. So, we went outside where they had some of Santa's reindeer and Parker was all smiles for the camera.

Another Project Completed

I had this super cute animal print fabric that I wanted to make a blanket out of for Joely, and I got it done over the weekend. It has a minky dot fabric on the back and a thinner, but dense batting inside- it felt soft when I picked it out :)

Nativity Story

Joe's family has decided to start a new family tradition of having the grandkids act out the nativity story before Christmas (They did it when Joe was younger- so now on to the next generation) so Parker was Joseph and here he is before we left to go to their house. He was so exited to be Joseph.
Once we were there, I didn't take too many pictures, but I did get it on video, so I will have to upload that later.

The last one I can't edit to take out the red eyes on Parker, but I still thought it was a cute pic- Anyway...

Another Project Completed

So, I really wanted to get/ make one of those carseat canopy covers because I thought they looks cool, cute, functional, and with a baby being born right smack in the winter, it could be a very useful item. Well, I had the fabric picked out for the top for a while, was debating on the inside fabric, but picked one a few weeks ago, and have just put off sewing it. I am not the most fantastic at sewing and so while it looked rather simple I didn't really trust myself enough to do it, but now with um, ya two weeks left I really should get it done. I was able to get it all done in one afternoon, it probably took me an hour or so, and I was really proud of how it turned out. I am still going to put some flowers on the straps, but I had to figure out how to do that. Oh, and I know that my carseat is blue- but I {love} that carseat and it is a super fantastic one, so now with the cover it looks more girly :)

Snow

Parker LOVES going out in the snow this year, and unlike last year, if he slips, or falls into the snow he quickly gets up, says "I ok momma" and goes back to playing or shoveling. He LOVES to help shovel snow, and uses our big dustpan to help. (He is getting his own little snow shovel for Christmas- and snow boots too :)

Her Name

So, for those that I talk to more regularly and have asked if we have a name picked out, they already know, but for those that don't-

I am so pleased with how her room has turned out! Now a few sewing projects left and then in theory we can take it a LITTLE easier til she comes- at least that way, still all the Christmas stuff left.

Her Room

Thankfully her room is done! Mostly, there is her name that I am going to put up on the wall, but that is mostly done, just not quite. So, here are some pictures, I {heart} her room- it is exactly what I wanted- very girly- Oh, I do still need to put the valance up, but that will take very little time.

In Progress- It was a bit more time consuming than I thought- not that I thought it would be easy, I just didn't anticipate on the 3 coats of paint- I HATED it at this stage- I guess that is why you don't stop when you first see it- with the green and pink, it reminded me for some reason of watermelon colors and I did not like it.
This is after the first coat of paint
 All done!

Now, I just need to decide if I want her name to go above her crib (which would then not be centered on the wall, or centered on the changing table wall.
