Brother

Today I am really proud of my brother, Michael. He graduated from PGHS and today we went to the graduation ceremony. He is a fantastic brother, and uncle and such a cutie too. I love my family very much and Michael is NO exception. He is great at sports, loves music- he can pretty much name any band, he seems to enjoy working out : ) , playing with Parker and Parker loves playing with him. So congratulations Michael, you are one fantastic guy!

Delicious

Last night I tried out a new recipe and it was DELICIOUS! Joe was VERY skeptical when I put the plate in front of him, but he ate the WHOLE thing and it even had red peppers, zucchini and mushrooms (which typically Joe hates!) So I was very pleased. You can find the recipe here. The only changes I made is that A- I don't have wine, but I do on occasion use cooking wine, and I didn't have red, I used burgundy and only used like half of what they called for, I only lightly sprinkled the cayenne pepper over it, and I used regular paprika instead of the spicy one. The potatoes were delicious, and really light.

Apparently...

it was taking too much energy to make it ALL the way into bed. The flash was on- otherwise the room was dark and you couldn't see him in bed like this. He is so funny, he sleeps in the weirdest, most uncomfortable positions (which he gets that from me : ) He is always sleeping on his knees, or like this
Doesn't that look comfortable??

PaRkEr and MoMmY

So the other night Parker and I were having fun while Joe was at YM and we got a couple of cute, albeit blurry shots.

Sadly, I don't think he has taken after me...not that he isn't the CUTEST boy ever, I just wish part of my looks could take some credit...

Backyard View

Now, where we live there is a good amount of houses, and the lots are not huge, not you know like breathing down your neighbors back, but not spacious either. That being said however, we have an ideal lot, we live in a cul-du-sac and have a gorgeous view from our windows, it helps not feel too cramped. Pardon the glare on the glass-We get to see birds, ducks, geese, dogs (heehee) in the backyard and even these-
And these are heron, I did not know that, but thankfully someone did!

Updates

Well, our internet has been down for a few days (and by few I mean like 5!) Anyhoo, due to the lack of time being spent on the internet, I have been able to get a few projects done such as taking down Parker's crib- SAD!! He hasn't been sleeping in his crib for like 3 months, but I couldn't bring myself to take it down, it is like admitting that he is growing up and is no longer a baby, so now he has just his big boy bed and his room looks more like a little boys room. Also, I didn't like the paint on the wall in Parker's room (well 2 of the walls, 2 walls were one color and the other 2 walls were another color. So I decided to remedy the problem and paint Parker's room and I don't think I could tell you enough how much I love the new color. I think it is probably one of my favorite colors in the house. It is interesting how much more bold the colors are that the rooms are being repainted. I LOVE color!! So here is the before - you can kinda tell, but there is like NO room in there, the is the crib, and his bed (his crib is GORGEOUS by the way)
Then there is after the crib was taken down-

And here is the after

I LOVE it, love it LOVE it.

CoUpOnS

Yay for coupons! I have always wanted to be one of those super cool great saving coupon clippers but until recently no such luck or deep down motivation. Now, I am not saying that I am a super cool great saving coupon clipper, but I'd like to think I did pretty good! (yes, I will admit that I wanted to pat myself on the back, but I had Parker do it for me : )
Guess how much it cost~

I have 4 Kraft salad dressings. 4 Kraft BBQ Sauces, 4 Cool Whips, 2 Kraft Singles, 2 Cream Cheese, 2 Frostings, 2 A1 Steak Sauce, 1 Ritz Crackers, 1 Cakesters, 1 Cookie Mix, 1 Cereal, 1 Milk, 1 Yoplait Yogurt, 1 Green Giant Steamers 1 8 oz Shredded Cheese, 1 Kraft Mayo,1 Kraft Miracle Whip, 1 16 oz sliced turkey, and 1 Glade Lasting Impressions plug in.

Now you think I am going to tell you, well, I'd rather have you guess first, and then on Thursday, I'll tell you how much I spent on this. Now on another trip I got the stuff below. Now I spent more in comparison to what I did spend above, but lets be fair, cleaning products cost more than food typically, so I spent about $15.00 for what is below, but I have 3 infant Ibuprofen (and those are like typically $4.00 each- so that in and of itself is a deal) I got the Mr. Clean B1G1 free, for the cleaners, and also for the magic erasers, the Glade Air Effects were B1G1 free, plus I had 2 Target $2.00 each coupons, so it made them owe me .14 cents.

Anyway, I am pleased with the deals I have gotten and love to share with Joe, and my mom the great deals I have gotten. Oh, and I guess I am sharing with you too : )

ShOeS

So Parker tried on Joe's shoes the other day. It is kinda funny because he is really into Joe's shoes, he loves to take them out of the closet, arrange them on the tub rim and sort etc the shoes, so it is funny that he decided to try them on. He hasn't tried any of my shoes- I guess that isn't a bad thing : )

The Garden

So finally after living in our house for almost 5 years we now have an actual garden. It took a lot of work to even get it ready to plant the vegetables, and I will tell you in about 3 months if it was worth it : ) We had to build up the wall around the garden, yes, I know it is not straight, but it was built with love and most importantly, it is done. We then had to fill the box, and then put all the fertilizer and stuff in it and then plant the vegetables (and fruit) We planted some strawberries, cantaloupe, zucchini, cucumber, yellow squash, carrots, green beans, tomatoes, and green peppers. I am really hoping that it will grow well, and turn out. I am excited to see how it grows!

KiSsEs

I love that Parker comes to me when he is sad or hurt (not that he is sad or hurt) but that he comes to me for comfort. More recently when he gets a hurt he come to me for me to kiss it better. He seems to love to get kisses, whether he is hurt or not, but it is fun that he comes to me for the comforting kiss to make it go away. He is such a sweetheart!

6 Years

Holy cow! Has it really been 6 years since Joe and I got married?!?! It is hard to believe because a.) I don't feel old enough to be married that long, and b.) I don't feel like I look old enough to have been married that long. Our 6 year anniversary was actually on Saturday (May 3rd) But being that I haven't been feeling fantastic we kept it pretty low key. We took Parker with us to Olive Garden where he enjoyed the bread sticks, and croutons. He really is his father's child : ) When our external hard drive is running I will have to post some pics from that day. It was quite gorgeous outside and it was a wonderful day. I look at how Joe and I have "changed" since we first got married, the way that we are able to work so well together, I guess changed isn't the right word, it is more like the way that we have grown together. We are better for knowing and being with each other and I am grateful everyday that he comes home to me~

UpDaTeS

So, apparently I have been slacking on the blog posting. I realize when someone has my blog on their blog list and the last update was like over 2 weeks ago. Sad, I know. Well, lately I have been feeling kinda crappy- and to top it off, tomorrow I have to go and get a root canal- Fantastic- so currently I am having to take more pain medicine than I am used to so my stomach isn't terribly happy with me, but my mouth isn't hurting too much until I eat. It doesn't matter what I eat, it will end up hurting really bad, so good thing my appointment is tomorrow because I am avoiding eating for now. Parker is doing good, his vocabulary is expanding, he doesn't say two syllables, and doesn't say the end of the word, but that will come- here are some words that he says,
Coh (Cold)
Puh (puppy)
Buh (Bug)
Bir (bird)
Brea (bread)
Mor (more)
Bah (Ball)
Baah (bottle)
Car (Of Course)
Pa (my dad- Papa)
Dad
Mom
Na (no- thankfully I don't here this one too often)
Those are the ones I can think of right, but I am sure there are more. He sure is growing and we cut his hair again. He really is a goofy boy, he like to give high fives, knuckles, and arm wrestle. He also likes to wrestle with Joe and that is really fun to watch. He is quite the little body slammer. If there is something that he does not like he does a little ick sound. He will put anything away, or in the garbage that you ask him to (for the most part) He is very into letters right now, he makes some animal sounds like a bear, pig, sheep, cow, snake, lion, puppy, and monkey. (he also makes the sound of a deer, but it is a growl, so we don't really count that one : )He is "obsessed" with making sure doors are closed, picking up specks from the ground, and flushing the toilet (he will actually shut the lid and then flush it) He is really goofy. We are so grateful every day for him being in our lives.
Oh, on a side note, what do you think of the font- is it different on your computer?
