UpDaTe

Umm, ya, probably time for an update, I think it has only been about 8 months since my real last post. Amazing how much time life takes up :)

Joely~ Seriously, she could not be any cuter! She is such a doll! She already has ALMOST 10 teeth. 3 molars, and 6 front, but the last molar is so close to coming in, and actually 2 more front are too. She started walking at 10 months and now she practically runs! She is a great night time sleeper, and while I do have to rock her to sleep, she will stay asleep (for the most part- if she wakes up, it is usually during teething time and I can't say I blame her) She is a little talker, but not any words, I think that Da means dog though...but I could very easily be wrong. She is a pretty good eater, she LOVES yogurt, but we give her everything, and if she doesn't want it, she shakes her head and throws it off the high chair tray. She is a VERY opinionated little girl. She turned one on the 30th of December and we had a party for her. At that time she was 18.15 lbs, and I can't remember the height, but the dr said that he didn't think it was right because it was too much of a drop in percentiles. For the first, I would say almost year, she was a COMPLETE mommy's girl, too much at some times, just because she wouldn't go to daddy- at all. And suddenly, within the last couple months she is just my little social butterfly- this is good, very good, and bad, cause I really would like to know the people she wants to be held by :) She gets into anything and everything, much more so than Parker. I have found that we didn't have child locks/ latches on every door, but with Parker, it wasn't needed- with her, every door needs a latch! She is such a wonderful little girl. We (I) love her so very much. She is just a little goof ball!

Parker-
Where do I begin...I think I shall need to lock Parker in his room when we hit the teenage years. This child of mine can be so so incredibly sweet, but he can have such an attitude! He is a very picky eater and when (not if, because I make a lot of meals he doesn't like, but he can eat or not eat, but he doesn't get anything else if he doesn't eat) when I make something he doesn't like, he says "You should not have made this, you should make something I like." Um, NO! We would live on cheese quesadillas, and mozzarella sticks :) Here is our conversation from the other night-

Me: Parker, you have 4 more minutes to finish your dinner.
Parker: How about 5? Me: No, I think just 4. Parker: How about 6? Me: Well, your lucky, I'll give you 5 minutes.Parker: Hmm, I should have said 6 first.Me: (walk to other room and then laugh) what a kid!

Oh, dear! Also, he seems to think something isn't real if it doesn't have eyes. He will say, "But Mom, it doesn't have eyes, so it isn't real!" I hear "But Mom" a lot! But he can be the most sweet boy ever. It just melts me when he shares with Joely. He can be so tender with her. He is such a smarty too! He can count to 200 (and probably higher) He weighed about 37 lbs at his 4 year checkup, and is my long and skinny boy! He wears holes in his knees like you would NOT believe! I have pants that I got him at Christmas that have gaping holes- it has not even been 2 months! He has been to the dentist (and his next appointment is coming up) and it was filled with tears. He did not like it, but we will see how it goes next time. He loves donuts. any donut. The other day we got a box of donuts that had 6 donuts and he was like

Parker: One for me, one for you, one for daddy.
Me: Parker, there are 6 donuts, and that is only 3 that are used
Parker: Ok, two for me, two for daddy and one for you.
Me: Well, that still leaves us with one more
Parker: Well then, two for daddy, three for me, and one for you.
Me: Hmmm....somehow I am getting the short end of this stick...:)

We love our Parker James, and although he can be so incredibly trying, he can be so wonderful, so I try and focus on those moments, when we are having the trying ones :) I love him so much, and he probably is just a lot like me so we can butt heads a little :)

Me~ Um, same old, same old? I am trying to work on being more flexible and balance my time better. I need to be better about letting things go, not having the house be completely clean at all times. I am not  one of those moms that just not worry about things and play etc. I need to have things clean and then I can play and relax, but on that note, when things are maintained, it doesn't take a lot of time to keep it up and so it is all about balancing time, and prioritizing. When Parker helps, the work gets done quickly and then we can play, read etc.
